Gigowl

The gig is over. The record isn't.

Gigowl is a shared log of gigs. You write up the nights you were at, and the setlist you type helps the next person who was there.

A spreadsheet only ever helps you. This one is read from Mastodon, Pixelfed and anywhere else that speaks ActivityPub.

What it looks like from the inside

  • A phone showing the Gigowl feed. A card for tonight fills the screen: a
photograph of a lit stage, the date and doors time, the band, the venue, a line
saying two people you follow are going, and buttons reading Keen, Going and
Went. Under it, a row of two more gigs on this week, each with a picture and
the names of people going.

Your feed, and what is on tonight.

  • A phone showing a gig page. A wide photograph of the stage, then the date, the
headliner, the support act and the venue, buttons reading Keen, Going and Went
with Went already chosen, a Write up button, the times of the doors and the
stage, who has edited the catalogue entry, and the start of the setlist.

One gig, everyone who was there.

  • A phone showing one person's write-up of a gig. A photograph of the stage, the
date, the heading You were at Harpun, the venue and the writer's handle marked
Public, then two paragraphs about what the band played and how the room went
quiet.

A write-up, which also goes out as a post.

Screenshots of the running application. The account, the bands, the rooms and the write-ups in them are invented.

On tonight

Nothing on tonight in the catalogue.
