Built with AI

Gigowl is built mainly with agentic AI coding. An AI writes most of the code that runs this site.

The work is still mine. I decide what gets built and how it should behave, I review and try out what the AI produces, and I answer for everything that goes live. The source is public under AGPL-3.0, so you can check that for yourself.

Gigowl itself sends nothing you write to an AI model. Your write-ups, photos and posts are not passed to one, and not used to train one.

You can connect an AI assistant to your own account if you want one. That stays off until you turn it on, the application has to say what it wants to do before you approve it, and you can disconnect it at any time.

That same switch decides one more thing. When it is on, a page here offers a small set of tools to an AI assistant running inside your own browser, so that it can ask this site for facts instead of guessing at the page. Those tools only read the catalogue: gigs, artists, venues, setlists and who has said they are going. They cannot write anything, and they answer with what you could already see yourself. There is no separate approval screen for this one, which is exactly why it is limited to reading.
